The Norwegian market

The Norwegian off trade market is controlled by the Norwegian state owned Wine Monopoly, ensuring an egalitarian mode of sales to consumers. The market for restaurants and the on-trade is open, similar to many other markets. Moestue Grape Selections focuses on being flexible and service oriented, with quality at the forefront of all we do.

The Wine Monopoly has three segments:

Basic listings: Volumes from min 5000 to 100.000 bottles year

Ordering range: Available for all shops and for all customers, but not listed in shops.

Special orders: Sales to specific customers, very manual and time consuming. A vital part of Moestue Grape Selections business, and the only Norwegian importer with dedicated staff for this

A few notes on the on-trade market

Horeca/on trade can purchase wines through different wholesalers or directly from the importer. We work with specialized temperature controlled warehousing for allocation wines. We partner with wholesalers, but work directly with many key customers – focusing on the needs of the customer above our own. Our positive partnership with wholesalers ensures wide distribution all over Norway.
